William Jackson “Billy” Meredith

William Jackson “Billy” Meredith, 62, of Camilla, died Sunday,

January 29, 2012 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4 at Pine Level

Baptist Church in Cairo with private interment in Westview Cemetery. 

Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate.

Born August 29, 1949 in Colquitt County, Mr. Meredith was the son of

the late Thomas Jackson and Mary Jane Edwards Meredith.   He was

a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the First Calvary

Division Airmobile.  He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal. 

Mr. Meredith worked as a general contractor.  He was a member of

Pine Level Baptist Church of Cairo.

Survivors include his wife, Susan M. Meredith of Camilla;  two

daughters, Heather Chastain & husband, Danny, of Ludowici and

Mandy Gay of Camilla;  two sons, Tommy Meredith & wife, Angela,

of Leesburg and E.J. McCorkle of Camilla;  two sisters, Sandra

Ghelarducci & husband, Leo, of Moultrie and Nita Ann Chapman &

husband, Don, of Seattle, WA;  and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, February 3 at Pine Level

Baptist Church in Cairo.

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
