                        William A. “Billy” Brooks

 

 

William A. “Billy” Brooks, 86, of Camilla, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012

at Mitchell Convalescent Center in Camilla.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13 at Parker-Bramlett

Funeral Home with interment in Oakview Cemetery with military honors. 

Rev. Alton Harper and Rev. James Sapp will officiate.

 

Born October 11, 1925 in Mitchell County, Mr. Brooks was the son of the late

Calvin and Julia Granger Brooks.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Wynell

McKenzie Brooks.  Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member

of First Baptist Church of Camilla.  He retired from the City of Camilla.  

Mr. Brooks was also preceded in death by his brother, J. Lewis Brooks.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Stacy B. Marshall of Camilla;  a granddaughter,

Melissa M. Stills & husband, Britt, of Pelham;  a great grandson, Hayes Stills; 

one sister, Sue Brooks Hancock of Albany;  one sister-in-law, Opal H. Brooks

of Camilla;  a niece, Teena B. Milligan;  three nephews, Johnnie Brooks, Len

Hancock, and Terry Hancock;  and several great nieces and great nephews. 

 

Visitation will be from 1 – 2 p.m., Friday, one hour before services, at

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.

 

Memorials may be made to the Billy Brooks Memorial Fund, c/o Rad Yager,

353 S. Harney St., Camilla, GA 31730.
