Walter Donald Hays, Sr., 87, of Hopeful, died Monday, January 16, 2012
at Willson Hospice House in
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m.,
Thursday, January 19 at
Rev. Jimmy Albritton and Rev. Ronnie Kinsaul will officiate.
Active pallbearers include Mathew Watts, Christopher Watts, Adam Watts,
Will George, Aaron Collins, and Daniel Hays. Honorary pallbearers will be
the Bobby Rogers Sunday School Class.
Born September 16, 1924 in
late Walter Bright and Ethel Ona Bullard Hays. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Sue Mathews Hays. Mr. Hays was a veteran of the U.S. Army and
a member of
operated Donald Hays Pulpwood Company. Mr. Hays was preceded in death
by two grandchildren, Trae Hays and Dawn Hays.
Survivors include four daughters, Terri Watts of Pelham, Susan Sieczka of
Camilla, Becky George & husband, Bill, of Dallas, GA, and Marsha Youngblood
& husband, Hank, of Sylvester; three sons, Donald “Knotty” Hays, Jr. of Dallas,
TX, Bright Hays & wife, Anne, of Pelham, and Greg Hays & wife, Mary Lynn, of
Hopeful; a sister, Emmie Lou Lewis of Hopeful; 17 grandchildren, Jessica Turner,
Ashleigh Pollock, Kristy Watts, Mathew Watts, Christopher Watts, Emily Tucker,
Adam Watts, Kiley Hays, Kim Hays, Kathy Collins, Becca Burnett, Aaron Collins,
Will George, Betsy Mackey, Molly Barnard, Abby Hembree, and Daniel Hays;
and 27 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and devoted and loving
caregivers, Rachel Lynn, Alan Mosley, and Teresa Smith; and housekeeper of
many years, Geraldine Crump.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 18 at Parker-Bramlett
Funeral Home in Camilla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willson Hospice House,
National Headquarters, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive,
Boys Ranch,
Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
