Obituaries

Henry Arce Snipes, 78, of Pelham died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday Dec. 27, 2017 at Union Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Doug Hall, Rev. Steve Wooten and Rev. Les Pollock will officiate.

Born Sept. 6, 1939 in Grady Co., Mr. Snipes was the son of the late William Norwood Snipes and Lela Pollock Snipes. He was a lineman for Mitchell EMC and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Snipes was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, W.H. and Patricia Snipes and two brothers in law Earl Smith and Reggie Parlette.

Survivors include his wife, Miriam “Judy” Snipes of Pelham; son, Ken Snipes (Krys) of Pelham; two daughters, Sherry Harper (Ken) of Thomasville and Pam Snipes of Vada; five brothers, Thurman Snipes (Lillian) of Pelham, Marvin Snipes (Judy) of Pelham, Junior Snipes (Sandra) of Tenniville, Robert Snipes (Georgia) of Camilla; Yvonne Smith of Powder Springs, Leanear Parlette of Pelham, Sue Brinkley (Roger) of Cairo; grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Anthony Burnum, Jason Harper, Chelsea Butler, Wil Snipes, and Grace Snipes; great grandchildren, Lane and Grant Brown, Raylan and Maddie Burnum, and Evie Harper; two step sons, Tracy Whigham of Cairo and Doug Whigham of Cairo.

Visitation will 6 – 8:00 Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 at Union Grove Baptist Church.
