Obituary for Herman Carroll Coker

Herman Carroll Coker, 84, of Camilla died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Willson Hospice House in Albany.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Oakview Cemetery. Rev. Joe Poitevint will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Coker, Cody Coker, Tyler Coker, Hayden Register, Justin Simpson, and Kenny Shiver.

Born June 12, 1932 in Whigham, GA, Mr. Coker was the son of the late Compton Coker and Earnestine Johnson Coker. He was married to the late Sarah Shiver Coker. Mr. Coker was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Air Force, having earned a Bronze Star. He was a local business man and a member of Pinecliff Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Coker was a member of the Camilla Masonic Lodge #128.

Survivors include four sons, Alan N. Coker of Moscow, Idaho, Donald W. Coker (Kelley Lea) of Camilla, J. Kevin Coker (Deborah N.) of Newton, and Danny R. Coker (Shana Leigh) of Leesburg; one brother, Billy Coker of Lake Seminole; two sisters, Agnes Janelle Nelson of Bainbridge and Myrtle Ann Lewis of Whigham; six grandchildren, Calvin Coker (Sara), Leigh Ann Mullinax (Grant), Rebecca Lea Simpson (Justin), Cody J. Coker, Caitlin C. Register (Hayden), and Tyler Coker; six great grandchildren, Riley Mullinax, Alayna Simpson, Luke Coker, Carson Register, Holden Register, and Ava Lynn Simpson.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinecliff Baptist Church Building Fund, 8193 Pinecliff Rd., Camilla, GA 31730.

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
